Scana company awarded contract for shore power system to cruise terminal in Flåm – Norway  

Scana-owned PSW Power & Automation AS has been awarded a contract from Aurland Havnevesen to design, manufacture, and install a complete 16MVA Shore Power system for cruise vessels. The system will be installed at the cruise terminal in Flåm – Norway, situated at the end of the UNESCO world heritage listed Aurlandsfjorden.

“We are honored to be entrusted by Aurland Havnevesen with this important project, providing emission-free solutions for cruise vessels at berth,” says Eirik Sørensen, Managing Director of PSW Power & Automation AS.

“We are very pleased to have contracted PSW Power & Automation for this project. Establishing shore power for cruise ships in Flåm is the most important measure in terms of cutting emissions in the World Heritage fjords. This is in line with both local and state level ambitions to consolidate Flåm as a flagship within sustainable tourism,“ says Tor Mikkel Tokvam, Port Director at Aurland Hamnevesen KF.

This is a sizeable contract (1) for the company. The project will start immediately with delivery Q2-2027.

  • A sizeable contract is defined to be between NOK 25 million and NOK 75 million.
  • A substantial contract is between NOK 75 million and NOK 150 million.
  • A large contract is between NOK 150 million and NOK 250 million.
  • A Very large contract is over NOK 250 million.

As of today, Scana’s order backlog stands at approximately NOK 1.25 billion.
