Scana company enters into framework agreement for battery energy storage system for AI data center
Scana-owned PSW Power & Automation AS has entered into a framework agreement with a Norwegian data center operator in the AI/HPC sector for the delivery of a 240 MVA / 250 MWh battery energy storage system.
PSW Power & Automation will act as the system integrator for the complete BESS solution. The agreement is of significant strategic importance to the company in the growing market for AI data centers and associated power systems.
The framework agreement contains no binding volume commitments, but total revenue from expected orders is estimated to be between NOK 250 million and NOK 350 million, corresponding to a very large contract (4) for the company. Work under the agreement is expected to commence immediately, with deliveries expected from Q1 2027.
“The contract is an important milestone in our strategic focus on deliveries for datacenters, a market experiencing very strong growth,” says Baste Tveito, CEO of Scana ASA.
- (1) A sizeable contract is defined to be between NOK 25 million and NOK 75 million.
- (2) A substantial contract is between NOK 75 million and NOK 150 million.
- (3) A large contract is between NOK 150 million and NOK 250 million.
- (4) A very large contract is over NOK 250 million.
