Scana company secures shore power contract in Ålesund, Norway.
PSW Power & Automation has signed a contract with Ålesund region harbor authority for the delivery of a shore power system in Ålesund. This is the second shore power system PSW Power & Automation is delivering to the Ålesund region port authority.
The delivery includes the design and commissioning of a shore power system with total capacity of up to 15 MVA. PSW Power & Automation will design and manufacture the module-based shore power units with integrated frequency converters, switchgear, transformer and energy management system.
This is a sizeable (1) contract for the company. The project will start immediately, and delivery will take place in Q2-2025.
“The system will deliver clean energy to vessels in berth and contribute to substantial reductions in noise and emission as well as great savings in maintenance and fuel for the shipowners”, says Eirik Sørensen, Managing Director of PSW Power & Automation.
(1) A sizeable contract is defined to be between NOK 20 million and NOK 50 million.
(2) A substantial contract is between NOK 50 million and NOK 150 million.
(3) A large contract is over NOK 150 million.
