Scana company signs contract for offshore electrification project

PSW Power & Automation has signed a contract for the design and delivery of an offshore electrification project.

The company will deliver a power system containing static frequency converters, high voltage transformers, switchgear, and software. The system will ensure safe transfer of electric power from a fixed platform installation to a jack-up drilling unit situated in the North Sea. This is a sizeable contract for the company (1).

The project will start immediately, and delivery will take place Q2/Q3-2024.

“With this contract we continue to deliver “high end” electrical systems that contribute to reduce the carbon footprint to multiple industries. This delivery from PSW will enable major reductions in CO2 emissions on the Norwegian Continental shelf”, says Eirik Sørensen, Managing Director in PSW Power & Automation.

  •  A sizeable contract is defined to be between NOK 20 million and NOK 50 million.
  •  A substantial contract is between NOK 50 million and NOK 150 million.
  •  A large contract is over NOK 150 million.
