Seasystems secures another FPSO in Brazil

Scana-owned Seasystems has been awarded a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the delivery of yet another mooring system for an FPSO project in Brazil, with immediate project start.

The delivery includes mooring equipment such as chain stoppers, jacks, and winches. The FPSO will be converted in Asia, and the integration of the mooring system will be carried out at a shipyard in the region. This is a major contract for Seasystems, with a value exceeding NOK 40 million. The project begins immediately and is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2023.

– It is encouraging to see that Seasystems once again proves competitive with its mooring solutions. It is especially gratifying that this is a repeat order from a customer we have worked with for many years. That is a clear sign of customer satisfaction with previous deliveries, says Styrk Bekkenes, CEO of Scana.

– In recent years, Seasystems has worked systematically to develop robust and cost-efficient mooring solutions, and we are now seeing strong results from that effort, says Torkjell Lisland, Managing Director of Seasystems.

This is one of several contracts for mooring FPSOs that will operate in Brazilian waters. Seasystems’ main focus area is mooring systems, and over the past ten years the company has delivered 10 major mooring systems to projects in traditional oil and gas, LNG, aquaculture, and the growing floating offshore wind market.
