PSW Technology gets new managing director

Bergen, 30 September: Scana-owned PSW Technology has hired Tommy Johnsen (53) as the company’s new managing director. Johnsen takes up the position on Monday 3 October. The 53-year-old has 28 years’ experience from the oil and gas industry, where he has held a number of leading positions in companies such as Odfjell, Seadrill and Well Expertise. He also knows PSW Technology from before, both from the customer side and as member of the board back in 2013-2014.

«For me, this is a positive and great new challenge. The way I see it, the outlook for PSW Technology is very promising. The market is on the upswing after a tough time. We will benefit from this in the years to come, as the company offers services within well management, drilling, risers, and BOPs – segments that are going to be busy,” Tommy Johnsen says.

The new MD takes over the position from the company’s founder, Oddbjørn Haukøy.

«We are happy to have a capacity like Tommy with us in PSW Technology. He has the right qualifications to lead the company,” Styrk Bekkenes, CEO of parent company Scana ASA, states.
